ONE OF THE SUSPECTS ACCUSED OF DROPPING OFF A DECEASED JUVENILE AT AN AREA HOSPITAL HAS COURT APPEARANCE SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 1

A 16-year-old died at a residence in the 700 block of North Grand Avenue in Sedalia on August 4, and three persons are facing felonies in connection with the aftermath. According to a police report, a Sedalia Police officer responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to a deceased juvenile who was brought to the emergency room. The officer made contact with Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith, who was already on the scene. Smith said the deceased individual- Jacob Howe- was dropped off by three individuals who then left the hospital. It was determined Howe had been deceased for approximately six to 12 hours prior to his arrival at the Emergency Room.

The event started Thursday as Missouri continues to roll out mass vaccination sites across the state. Those looking to get vaccinated at the event were required to fill out a pre-registration form in order to be eligible. The Pettis County group hopes to vaccinate around 2,200 people and will not be accepting any walk-ins.
