The Bombay High Court on Thursday adjourned for four weeks the plea filed by former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh seeking to quash the First Information Report (FIR) against him by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A Division Bench of Justices S.S. Shinde and Manish Pitale was hearing a plea filed by Mr. Deshmukh seeking to quash the FIR registered against him under sections Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 7 (public servant taking gratification other than legal remuneration in respect of an official act) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

He said the government would continue to fight the legal battle until Maratha reservation was granted. He also spelt out his governmentâs preparations to combat the virus. Hours after the Supreme Court struck down the 12% quota in education and 13% in government jobs for Marathas, Thackeray, in his address to the citizens said he would seek the intervention of the Prime Minister and President of India for an early decision on quota. âI will send a formal letter on Thursday and if needed, I will lead an all-party delegation to PM over the Maratha quota,ââ he said.
