SRINAGAR: Chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar on Saturday evening declared five more areas as Micro containment Zones in the district.
According to the news agency KNO, the five Micro Containment Zones include Umarabad 90feet road umer Hair Bachpora near masjid usman, Nowhsehra main stop near Hubbi masjid, Bhagat near Jamia Masjid, Batmaloo PCR near Jamia Masjid and National institute of Technology Hazratbal.
The areas were notified as Micro Containment Zones after detection of many COVID-19 positive cases in these areas today.
“People living within radius of 50 to 75 mtrs from reported areas shall restrict their movement as medical teams complete surveillance and testing as per protocol,” DC said in a fresh notification issued in this regard

Srinagar: To review the emergency disaster response mechanism in Srinagar, a TableTop Exercise was held here on Thursday at DC office in preparation for the Mock Drill to be conducted on Friday at Zero Bridge.
The Table Top Exercise was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad who is also the chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman DDMA highlighted the objectives of holding the table top exercise and the practical aspects of the mock drill to be held.
He said that any kind of disaster usually occurs without any signs of warning and that the only solution is to be prepared in respect of men and machinery. He said mock drill is to test the adequacy and efficiency of the emergency response system plan besides role and responsibilities that need to be carried out by different stakeholders in combating any disaster.

NEW DELHI: Delhi reported over 5,500 fresh COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the sharpest daily spike this year, with Health Minister Satyender Jain cautioning that given the pace of the spread of the infection, the cases might breach the city s single-day record registered in November last year.

‘No case reported in three areas from last 30 days’
Srinagar, Apr 06: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Tuesday denotified three micro containment zones in Srinagar, saying that the decision was taken as no fresh case was reported on these areas in the last 30 days.
In a tweet, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Aijaz Asad as per the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) stated that three micro containment zones including Barzulla Baghaat Habib colony, Hawal Firdous cinema near Brand shop and Illahi Bagh Hyder colony near Masjid Hyder have been denotified.
“DDMA Srinagar denotifies 3 Micro containment zones.Barzulla Baghaat Habib colony (No.193),Hawal Firdous cinema near Brand shop(No.194), Illahi Bagh Hyder colony near Masjid Hyder(195). De notification comes up as no fresh positive case reported in last 30 days from these MCZs,” DC Srinagar tweeted
