AS the coronavirus continues to spread, it has also mutated - with three significant new variants of the virus now present in the US.
Experts have warned the UK variant, which was first discovered in Kent in the south of England is up to 70 per cent more infectious - and has now emerged in the US.

ALMOST a dozen new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust over the weekend, the latest official figures show. NHS England figures show 463 people had died in hospital at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Sunday (January 24). That was an increase of 11 compared to Friday, when there were 452. It means there have been 31 deaths in the past week, up from 19 the previous week. Five new coronavirus deaths have been recorded at North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust over the weekend, the latest official figures show. NHS England figures show 345 people had died in hospital at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust as of 5pm on Sunday (January 24).
