A Hackensack man died at 5:52 p.m., Friday, May 7, after his truck crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle on Highway 210 in Birch Lake Township.
According to Minnesota State Patrol reports, Scott William Voudren, 48, of Hackensack was operating a 1997 GMC Sierra traveling south on Highway 371 late Friday afternoon when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2020 Honda CRV operated by Diane Marie Illies, 60, of Solway. The crash occurred at Woodland Drive in Birch Lake Township, Cass County.
Voudren sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Illies was transported from the scene to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Conditions were dry and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Dirt bike crash results in serious injury
Deputies and responders arrived on scene and learned the dirt bike struck rocks in the trail causing the machine to crash and the operator fell from the machine onto the rocks.

BACKUS A 42-year-old Frazee woman was seriously injured Saturday, May 1, when the dirt bike she was operating crashed in the Foothills State Forest, Spider Lake Recreation Area in rural Backus.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office was called at 12:11 p.m. to the crash involving an off-highway motorcycle. Deputies and responders arrived on scene and learned the dirt bike struck rocks in the trail causing the machine to crash and the operator fell from the machine onto the rocks. The woman was treated at the scene with serious injuries and transported to a Fargo, North Dakota, hospital.
