Readers continue to weigh in on the Park City election.

The Park Record is partnering with KPCW, the Park City Chamber/Bureau and the Park City Community Foundation to give Park City voters two opportunities Monday to hear from the candidates seeking office at City Hall.

The debate over Park City’s mayoral election continues in this week’s letters to the editor, with both incumbent Andy Beerman and challenger Nann Worel earning support from readers.

Park City Council and mayoral candidates gathered Monday evening for a forum and meet and greet, though their stated positions were often very similar.

Three Summit County councilors endorse Nann Worel in the Park City mayoral election, writing in a guest editorial that their relationship with the mayor’s office and the Park City Council have degraded during Mayor Andy Beerman’s term.

Readers continue to weigh in on the Park City races as Election Day nears.

“We must ... vote to restore a safe place for candid and civil discourse and elect leaders who actually listen to constituents and learn from experts,” writes John Kenworthy.

“Now is the time to listen to the medical experts and do what they are recommending for our children,” writes Julia Wylie.

Park City voters essentially dropped David Dobkin from the field for the mayor’s office on Tuesday, but the former candidate sees there being success in his first foray into City Hall politics. “I think I did as well as I could have possibly done,” Dobkin said.

Mayor Andy Beerman and Park City Councilor Nann Worel appear to have advanced to Election Day in November in the mayoral primary election on Tuesday, setting up a contest between two top political figures for the Marsac Building’s highest office.
