the sore loser of the 2022 midterms and it was a competitive field, i think, it is safe to say it s kari lake of arizona. on some level, that s not surprising. she was a trump darling, who ran her entire campaign for arizona governor on stop the steal. she was a formidable, dangerous candidate, former local tv news anchor. she was a very smooth communicator, who outperformed some of the other republicans who ran statewide, and also lost, including blake masters, who ran for senate. and mark finchem, another election denier, who ran for secretary of state. the reason for kari lake s defeat is very clear. she lost a lot of winnable republicans, because she was harping on the false claim of trump s stolen election in 2020. and crying about things like putting a stick for the heart of the mccain party in arizona. the washington post now says an exit polling found that 9% of self-described republicans voted for democrat katie hobbs.
distress, and when we hear from the president coming up they need to be very careful at the white house. feeling themselves, a little triumphant because republicans under performed in the midterm elections by a number of standards but it s not because the american people endorsed the economic outcomes or policies of this administration. if you look at the exit polling and the voter data, the republicans led on those issues and underperformed despite that. the white house should not spike any footballs. they loaded into the u.s. economy, the equivalent of france and germany gdp, you are going to get rip roaring inflation. so the president, sort of like the rooster crowing and taking credit for the sun coming up when the shut downs destroyed $22 million and rebounds from the creation of the jobs coming back. they need to net it out what they pay for in terms of job
to an even on the economy. if you look at cnn s exit polling out of the general election it showed that republicans voted based on the economy and inflation and democrats were boosted extensively by the dobbs decision. so you just had a fact-based logic-based, data-based explanation and can back it up with facts. the problem for republicans is they sort this out and a lot of the debate is going to happen in their own media silo where you have people saying, donald trump endorsed herschel walker, herschel walker could not get votes from the same voters who voted for brian kemp. that tells you we have a problem. voters who are available to brian kemp even in the democratic suburbs, he didn t win but did much better than herschel walker. why aren t they voting? marjorie taylor greene says, it s not trump, it s because they wouldn t let people like me help herschel walker. the audacity and really the frank rudeness of the campaign consultants and mitch mcconnell and lindsey graham wher
coalition and as an african-american, i share the view of many african-american people when i was stumping myself, people were offended by herschel walker s candidacy. national republicans chose him because they thought his race would make him competitive with blackvoters. what we heard last night from black voters is they would in the be patronized. this may be the own thing that you two agree with. i don t think it was a national push for pum him. and picked. let get gloria in here. exit polling during the election showed over 90% of black voters supported warnock. when do you ever see numbers like that? to your point, yes, that s accurate.
