of the ordinary but hit the peak travel times. and things change dramatically. it s been real backed up here, about five o clock it s just a straight line of nobody getting through. city tractor company in north liberty sits right near the interchange. where cars often back-up clear onto the interstate. city officials say relief is in site. first off they hope to wrap-up a widening project on penn street by the should help traffic leaving the interstate then officials plan to look at the timing of the traffic signals at the interchange. we will take another look at that once this project is done, what we can do for those lights if there is ways to optimize traffic flow through that intersection. and a more long-term solution is also on the horizon. with north liberty s population up 37 percent in 5 years. and the number of 10. the dot is working to get a second interchange open just down the interstate at forevergreen road. they hope to start work on that next year.
