MADISON, Wis. -- A group of Dane County Board Supervisors sent an open letter to Sheriff Kalvin Barrett on Thursday, asking him to not use county resources to break up

Board chair Patrick Miles held on to his seat Tuesday night, as did the board’s lone conservative. If Miles is reelected board chair he will be appointing the interim county executive when Joe Parisi retires.

Nearly one-third of the Dane County Board of Supervisors will be made up of up new faces this cycle after Tuesday’s election.

Take a look at the down-ballot items this Tuesday: mainly, two referendums for all Wisconsin voters and competitive Dane County Board races for some.

The board voted 26-3 to approve the lower fine, with eight members absent. The change also had the support of Sheriff Kalvin Barrett.
