Only two matches went the distance as the Helias Crusaders beat the Capital City Cavaliers 53-24 in a Central Missouri Activities Conference dual Tuesday. “Some of those closer matches will really come in clutch,” Helias coach Weston Keleher said. “We were able to come out on top in a couple and we may be able to steal a district seed that way.”
Capital City’s middle weights built a lead the Cavaliers wouldn’t give up. After the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers went up 18-12 after three weights, with one forfeit each way, the Cavaliers strung together four pins and a forfeit win to help build a 54-28 Central Missouri Activities Conference win Tuesday night at Capital City High School.
The Blair Oaks boys wrestling team is getting closer to full strength, and it showed Tuesday night. Blair Oaks won a pair of duals at Blair Oaks High School, defeating Capital City 57-20 and Jefferson City 41-24.
