Former zonal Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) director Sameer Wankhede informed the Bombay High Court on Friday that the State Excise Commissioner has dismissed his appeal challenging an order passed by the Thane Excise Collector cancelling the liquor license of his restaurant and bar in Navi Mumbai.

Former zonal NCB director Sameer Wankhede withdrew his plea against the Excise Department against the liquor license cancellation matter in the Bombay High Court. He informed the court that he would file afresh petition.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday expressed anger over how a petition filed the previous day by NCB's former Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede was listed for hearing without the court permitting the same. A division bench of Justices Gautam Patel and Madhav Jamdar refused to grant hearing on the petition, saying there was no urgency.
