The NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Tracking Team is monitoring Hurricane Lee, Tropical Storm Margot, and two areas of interest. Today marks the statistical peak of hurricane season and while the Atlantic Basin is very active, there are no threats to the U.S. 

The middle of September marks the statistical peak of hurricane season. This time of year, conditions are prime for tropical development in the Atlantic Basin.

The NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Tracking Team is monitoring Hurricane Lee, Tropical Storm Margot, and two areas of interest. Today marks the statistical peak of hurricane season, and while the Atlantic Basin is very active, there are no threats to the U.S. 

Get ready for a hot one today with highs in the low to mid-90s and higher humidity. Conditions will feel like the triple digits, with only isolated showers and storms in the forecast.

The accused, who had been hiding out at various places in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for several weeks, had reportedly planned to escape abroad using forged documents, with Nepal as a transit point.

Conditions feel wonderful this morning with slightly lower humidity in place as some drier air has worked into the region. Throughout the day, conditions will still be warm and slightly muggy with highs in the low 90s but it won't be nearly as humid as the past few days.

Conditions will be very calm today as compared to earlier in the week, but expect to notice the humidity again this afternoon.  Highs will reach the low 90s but feel-like heat index values are expected to peak between 105 and 110 throughout the afternoon.

As Idalia's influence on our forecast has ended, our weather today looks a little more typical as we mark the first day of September. 

Hurricane Idalia has intensified into a major hurricane with wind sustained at 120 mph. The storm is projected to become a Category 4 hurricane ahead of landfall later this morning near the Big Bend. The storm's forward speed is holding to the north at 15 mph.
