WSU partners with AI-driven platform to increase international student recruitment

WSU secured a partnership with Explore by Cialfo to increase international student recruitment and engagement. Cialfo is an artificial intelligence-driven platform that helps students worldwide navigate their college applications, according to a press release from WSU’s Office of International Programs.  WSU is the first university in Washington state to partner with Cialfo, said Chris Elam,.

Remote learning remains option for students unable to return to campus

Asynchronous learning options will remain available to WSU students who are not returning to campus for in-person classes this fall.  WSU recommends students who are unable or hesitant to return to campus this fall to consult with their academic adviser, Phil Weiler, WSU vice president for marketing and communications, said.  Advisers will work to ensure students’ needs are met and that they remain on track to graduate. “Our goal always is to get students graduated,” Weiler said. “We’ll do whatever we can to make sure that we remove any obstacles from [students] being able to get that degree.” Students who cannot return to Pullman have the option to take classes through the WSU Global Campus or at one of WSU’s four other physical campuses across the state, he said.

Through its Global Education, Academics, and Research Skills Program, academically gifted international students experience campus life and academic research at North Carolina’s universities. Xaver Neumeyer, assistant professor of entrepreneurship, is a faculty mentor in GTI’s GEARS program. He learned about GEARS through UNCW’s Office of International Programs. “I have always been interested in working with international students, to learn about their interests and gain from their insights,” he said. The mentoring was virtual because of the COVID pandemic. CSU students receive Boren Awards to study language and culture abroad 07 May, 2021 CSU students Mitch Roberts (left) and Taylor Ziska are recipients of Boren Awards to study language and culture abroad. Two Colorado State University students have earned David L. Boren Awards from the National Security Education Program, a federal initiative designed to support students interested in national security and linguistics. Mitch Roberts, a graduate student in the Warner College of Natural Resources, and Taylor Ziska, a senior in the College of Liberal Arts, each received the honors, which provides funding to study abroad to acquire language skills and international experience.
