Three Arrested on Felony Meth Charges in Iredell County

30-year-old Katherine Elizabeth Janvrin of Brown Summit Avenue in Statesville, 41-year-old Brandy Marie Jones of Randolph Road in Statesville, and 32-year-old Kevin Michael Duckworth of Allen Road in Harmony have all been arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers on felony drug charges. They were all charged with felony possession of crystal methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Janvrin was also charged with felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver crystal methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, along with one misdemeanor count of child abuse. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Deputies are calling a shooting where a 2-year-old was injured in Statesville “accidental.”
Iredell County deputies say a 2-year-old grabbed a loaded .380 semiautomatic pistol that had been lying on the bed and was shot.
The incident happened at a home on Old Wilkesboro Road in Statesville Sunday night.
The child was treated at the scene and then was taken to the children’s hospital in Winston-Salem. Deputies say the child is in stable condition.

Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On Sunday, April 25, 2021 the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a five month old child in respiratory distress at a home located at 657 Old Mountain Road, north of Troutman.
When the responding deputies arrived on scene, Troutman Fire, and Iredell County EMS personnel were already at the location. The child was pronounced deceased at the scene. The immediatearea was secured as an investigation into the child’s death was initiated.

An Iredell mother has been charged with felony involuntary manslaughter after deputies said she left her 5-month-old in a hot car back on Sunday, April 25.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about a 5-month old in respiratory distress at a home located on Old Mountain Road, north of Troutman.
The sheriff s office said their deputies, Troutman Fire and Iredell County EMS personnel were all called to the home. The child was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies report.
Deputies said the preliminary finding from an autopsy points to the cause of death as environmental hyperthermia. Deputies said that finding is consistent with the suspect making statements about leaving her child in a car seat, inside the car, for several hours on Sunday.
