New Research Finds A Majority Of Institutional Investors Believe The Nasdaq Next Generation 100 Index Will Outperform The Nasdaq-100 Date New research 1 commissioned by Invesco has found a majority (58%) of European institutional investors believe the Nasdaq Next Generation 100 Index will outperform the Nasdaq-100 over the next three years. Of this, more than a quarter (29%) think this is very likely. USC Games launches fund to support Black and Indigenous game design students USC Games has established a new fund with help from Borderlands publisher Take-Two Interactive that will support Black and Indigenous students in game design and engineering.  The Gerald A. Lawson Endowment Fund has been created with the goal of increasing the representation of those groups in the video game and tech industries, and will provide student support for Black and Indigenous students who wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees in game design or computer science through the USC Games program.  Take-Two made a significant seed contribution to help establish the Lawson Fund. The initiative is named after pioneering electronic engineer Gerald Lawson, who led the team that invented the interchangeable ROM cartridges used in the Fairchild Channel F console. Lawson was one of the few Black engineers working in the games industry during its inception.

Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, More Sign On for E3 2021 The ESA today revealed that another batch of high-profile game developers and publishers have signed on for the all-digital E3 2021. E3 2021 won’t be an in-person event, but that hasn’t stopped the ESA from getting commitments from the industries biggest publishers and developers. Back in April, the organization confirmed that Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, and Warner Bros. Games had committed to the event. The Entertainment Software Association today confirmed another ten companies participating in its all-digital version of the Electronic Entertainment Expo next month. The new additions were highlighted by three major publishers conspicuously absent from last month s initial list of E3 exhibitors: Sega, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and Square Enix. Joining them in the latest wave of additions are Xseed Games/Marvelous USA, Gearbox Entertainment, Freedom Games, Devious Eye Entertainment, Turtle Beach, Verizon, and Binge.com. Show organizers had already confirmed the participation of Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Konami, although Konami dropped out earlier this week saying it wouldn t be ready to show its projects in time.
