The project will add over 49,000 square feet to the third floor of the building at 1431 SW First Ave., Ocala, and renovate nearly 10,000 more in existing space. Health and community leaders were excited for the expansion to offer world-class medical care and keep Marion County residents close to home.
What the expansion includes
As part of the expansion, an additional 36 inpatient beds will be added, making up a 10-bed Neuro ICU, 10-bed Neuro step-down for intermediate care and a 16-bed general medical and surgical unit, which will be completed by the end of 2022.
The expansion will bring ORMC’s total number of inpatient beds to 323.
