U.S. Marshals, Sheriff s Office execute sex offender compliance operation

BOLIVAR – The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sex offender compliance operation, Operation Chickasaw, which was supported operationally and tactically by the United States Marshals Service and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation last week.
During the operation, two teams of Hardeman County Sheriff’s Deputies and Deputy U.S. Marshals investigated 35 convicted sex offenders to insure they are following their requirements and found 25 in compliance with the sex offender registry law.
Seven offenders were found to be out of compliance and three are still being investigated. James Shermaine Williams was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender.

(Omaha, NE) The number one fugitive on the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted List is back in the United States after being apprehended in Nicaragua.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says on Friday, investigators were advised that 29 year old Adam Hawhee is in custody in Miami, Florida. Hawhee is wanted out of Douglas County on two counts of Child Enticement and 26 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
In December of 2020, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received the two felony warrants for Hawhee. DCSO says initial attempts to locate Hawhee in the Omaha area were unsuccessful. The Sheriff s Office says during the investigation, it was determined that Hawhee may have fled the state and possibly the country.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The case of a man who was shot and killed by a US Marshal on his birthday in Charlotte has been handed over to the district attorneyâs office.

DETROIT Federal authorities said a Novi man defrauded the state of Michigan s Unemployment Insurance Agency by filing unemployment claims using the identities of state and federal prison inmates.
Terrell Dwayne Mason, 39, is charged with aggravated identity theft, mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering acting United States Attorney Saima Mohsin said.
An investigation has revealed that Mason filed more than 40 fraudulent claims, officials said.

According to federal authorities, Mason used his relationship with an Unemployment Insurance employee to process the claims through the state s UI system. The complaint alleges that the claims resulted in payments of more than $300,000 and would have paid over $800,000 if not detected by law enforcement.
