Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A recent crackdown on drunk driving in Minnesota resulted in far fewer arrests than similar enforcement campaigns conducted during the holidays during the past five years.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says law enforcement officers throughout the state made 1383 DWI arrests in connection with the Holiday Extra DWI Enforcement and Awareness Campaign from November 25th through December 31st. That is nearly 1000 below the arrest totals that were reported following the annual holiday enforcement campaigns dating back to 2015. The total last year was 2353.

(ABC 6 News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office said a Stewartville man was arrested Thursday night after deputies responded to a domestic assault call.
A 24-year-old woman and 21-year-old man had driven to the home of Shaun Whitney on the 2000 block of Heron Drive NW in Stewartville Thursday around 10 p.m. Deputies said the woman went to the home to return items that belonged to Whitney.
The OSCO said Whitney came out of his home and started making accusations against the woman and approached the 21-year-old in the driver s seat of the vehicle. Deputies said Whitney opened the vehicle door and tried punching the man.
