The chief minister is expecting about seven lakh doses for the 18+ beneficiaries in June
GUWAHATI: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said the supply of vaccines to Assam would increase by 30% in June, 50% in July and then in August there would be no scarcity.
The vaccination exercise for the 18+ group is most likely to come to a halt in the state as the stock has plummeted to about 20,000, but the chief minister appealed to the youngsters to have patience till the new consignment of jabs arrives in the first week of June.
Even as a vast population is eagerly waiting for the vaccine shield, the CM said new options are being explored to administer breakthrough drugs to reduce the hospital stay period of Covid patients. He paid a visit to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) here on Sunday, which has started administering DRDO’s 2-DG anti-Covid drug.
