Lecturer, Amotekun chief, three others die in auto crash

Punch Newspapers Sections Wale Oyewale A senior lecturer at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State, Mr Kola Oladunjoye, has been reported dead in an accident along the Moniya-Iseyin Road. Oladunjoye, an architect and a former head of department in the institution, was said to have died on Thursday alongside three others whose identities had yet to be confirmed. It was gathered that Oladunjoye and others said to be officials of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund were on their way from an official assignment at the Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki in the Saki West Local Government Area of the state. Their vehicle was said to have skidded after losing control before plunging into the Odo Ogun from the bridge.

Governor Abdulahi Sule recently confirmed the presence of the Boko Haram terrorist group in the state, saying they were regrouping and causing more havoc, amid security challenges bedevilling the state. He disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to seek support over the growing insecurity in his state. FRSC: Early morning crash kills 20 along Bode Saadu-Ilorin road January 30, 2021 The Kwara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of 20 persons, in a crash along the Bode Saadu-Ilorin road, in the early hours of Saturday. According to information made available to newsmen by the command, in Ilorin, on Saturday, quoted Jonathan Owoade, the Kwara Sector Commander, as saying that the cause of the crash was associated with over speeding and wrongful overtaking. “The multiple Road traffic crash occurred at about 3am today, at a location called Oloko area, which involved 3 vehicles: a blue commercial MAK Truck GGE614XM, a white commercial Mitsubishi canter Truck BRK534YX and a white Toyota Hummer bus KEY479YE.

FRSC boss urges public to report unprofessional conduct

TODAY January 30, 2021 Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has called on the public to leverage on the “Flagit” Anti- Corruption App, to report unprofessional and professional conducts exhibited by FRSC staff for punishment and reward where applicable. Oyeyemi made the call while reviewing the impact of the app on the conduct of the staff. He noted that as a public institution, the management of the FRSC has made several conscious attempts to ensure zero tolerance to corruption that has impacted positively on service delivery. He made the call in a statement by the corps’ Public Education Officer Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem on Saturday in Abuja.
