Bode Saadu-Ilorin road accident claims 20 lives

Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Jonathan Owoade, confirmed the incident, NAN reports.
Owoade said that the cause of the accident was associated with over speeding and wrongful overtaking.
“The multiple Road traffic crash occurred at about 3 am today, at a location called Oloko area, which involved three vehicles: a blue commercial MAK Truck GGE614XM, a white commercial Mitsubishi canter Truck BRK534YX and a white Toyota Hummer bus KEY479YE,” Owoade said.
“Of the thirty-one persons involved in the crash, seventeen of the eighteen occupants of the bus were burnt beyond recognition as a result of the fire that gutted the bus.
Twenty people have reportedly lost their lives in a ghastly auto accident at Olokonla, along Bode-Saadu-Jebba expressway in the Moro local government area of Kwara state.
Seventeen of the bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
One person, however, survived the accident as without any sort of injury.
It was gathered that the cause of the crash was associated to speeding and wrongful overtaking.
It was also gathered that the multiple road traffic crash occurred at about 3:00 am on Saturday involving three vehicles: Blue colour commercial Mark Truck GGE614XM, white colour commercial Mitsubishi Canter Truck BRK534YX and white colour Toyota Hummer bus with registration number KEY479YE.

The Kwara Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of 20 persons, in a crash along the Bode Saadu- Ilorin road, in the early hours of Saturday.
According to information made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by the command, in Ilorin, on Saturday, quoted Jonathan Owoade, the Kwara Sector Commander, as saying that the cause of the crash was associated with over speeding and wrongful overtaking.
“The multiple Road traffic crash occurred at about 3am today, at a location called Oloko area, which involved 3 vehicles: a blue commercial MAK Truck GGE614XM, a white commercial Mitsubishi canter Truck BRK534YX and a white Toyota Hummer bus KEY479YE.

Twenty persons reportedly lost their lives with 17 of them roasted to death in a fatal road accident at Olokonla, along the Bode-Saadu-Jebba Expressway in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State on Saturday.
One person, however, survived the auto crash uninjured.
The Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Jonathan Owoade and the director of the state Fire Service, Falade Olumuyiwa confirmed the accident.
“Following the First information Report (FIR) of the road traffic crash from the unit commander in charge of RS 8.11 Bode Saadu Unit command ACC A Ibrahim in the early hours of Saturday, 30/1/2021, the multiple road traffic crash occurred at about 0300hours at a location called Olokonla area which involved three vehicles (Blue commercial Mark Truck GGE614XM, White commercial Mitsubishi canter Truck BRK534YX and White Toyota Hummer bus KEY479YE).

A lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede Owerri in Imo State has been shot dead alongside a fresh graduate of Computer Science.
The lecturer whose name was given as Steve Nduka was said to have been shot dead while driving in his ES 330 Jeep near Air Force Base along Owerri-Aba road, Owerri, the State capital.
DAILY POST gathered that some security agents killed the computer science department lecturer as well as a student of the school, Nwokoro Chimaobi who has graduated from the institution.
A source said, “The lecturer was driving with his student and suddenly security agents fired gun shots at them, killing the two instantly.
