2021: Fayemi to Launch Projects to Tackle Kidnapping, Banditry, Robbery

By Victor Ogunje As part of the efforts to make Ekiti State safe for investment and safety in 2021, the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, will launch a safety city project to tackle all forms of kidnapping, banditry, robbery and other social menaces in the state. To bolster harmonious government-workers’ relationship, Fayemi said he would fulfill promises to recruit over 1,500 new employees into the teaching, healthcare and various cadres of the civil service, as well as paying all outstanding salaries, promotion and pension arrears due to active and retired civil servants. The governor spoke in Ado Ekiti Friday in a statewide broadcast to Ekiti residents commemorating the celebration of the New Year.

It was gathered that the victim, identified as Mrs. Agboola, came to Ayoni Cherubim and Seraphim Movement church for crossover night service. Eyewitnesses said she was already in the church but later came out to the main road when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle and died instantly. Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigeria Police Force were on hand at the scene to remove the corpse from the road. The body was later moved in a Federal Road Safety Corps vehicle to the mortuary.

52 escape death in Anambra multiple accident on New Year s Day [ARTICLE]

Mr Andrew Kumapayi, State Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka. Kumapayi said the accident which occurred at about 2 p.m., was caused by speeding and loss of control. “The multiple crash involved a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number AGB268ZT, a Mark Trailer with registration number GWA456YR and another Toyota Hiace bus with registration number NEN106XQ. “Others are an Acura MDX Jeep with registration number NZM764LK, a Marcopolo Luxury bus with registration number AKD483XF and a Hyundai Jeep with registration number EG172SMK,” he said.
