Drug dealer jailed after caught carrying 250 Xanax tablets

A DRUG dealer has been jailed after he was caught carrying 250 Xanax tablets in tubs. Ryan Beckford, of Church Street, London, has been sentenced to six years and six months in prison on various drug offences in Southampton after being caught by officers in the city centre. The 39-year-old was jailed at Southampton Crown Court on Friday, 21 May, having pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply. It was heard how officers in an unmarked car spotted Beckford involved in an altercation with another man on Above Bar Street on April 19. They searched him and discovered four tubs marked ‘Xanax’ filled with pills in his man bag, as well as £1,600 in cash.

Southampton man found with sawn-off shotgun and ammo

1/1 A SOUTHAMPTON father-to-be was caught storing a sawn-off shotgun and live ammunition in his city bedroom. Daniel Terry Hooper had the weapon stashed in the wardrobe of his bedroom in Warren Avenue, a court heard. The 22-year-old claimed he was in debt to a local drug dealer and was pressured into keeping it for him.  His father went looking for socks in his son’s room as they often got mixed up. He found an orange bag with something heavy in it, and discovered a sawn-off shot gun. Following a further search of his bedroom a shoe box containing white powder and more than 50 live cartridges were found.

Southampton man charged following Broad Green robbery

An 18-year-old man was robbed in Broad Green, Southampton when two men snatched items from his car boot. They stole four pairs of shoes and a bag with one of the men reportedly flashing a knife which was tucked into the waistband of his trousers as he walked off. The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday, April 17. On Wednesday, May 19, police raided an address in Dean Road, Southampton. Officers found a quantity of cannabis and items associated with drug dealing.
