Meet the Signee: Volleyball s Ashlyn Goolsby
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech volleyball has made three offseason additions to its 2021 signing class. The three future Jackets will join 12 returning current players, including all six regular starters. The second of its offseason signings is incoming freshman
Ashlyn Goolsby.
Goolsby will remain close to home upon her arrival on the Flats as she hails from Mariette, Ga. The future Jacket setter follows her Tech family legacy as her father, Brent, played football for the Ramblin’ Wreck from 1988-92 while her mother, grandfather and cousin are all Georgia Tech grads as well.
Goolsby spent her high school playing career at Walton High School, where she was a four-year letter winner and a two-year captain. The incoming freshman helped lead the Raiders to become Georgia’s 7A State Champions for three consecutive years from 2017-19 as well as Georgia’s 3-7A Regional Champions all four of her high school years from 2017-20. The Yellow Jackets (29-23) will join Vanderbilt, Indiana State, and Presbyterian.
The ACC Coastal Division Champions, Georgia Tech will make its 33rd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and second-straight since 2019 (no tournament was held in 2020).
The 17th-ranked Jackets are 73-65 (.529) all-time in the NCAA Tournament and is 65-54 (.546) all-time in the first-round, Regional action.
Georgia Tech will play its first game of the Nashville Regional against Indiana State on Friday, June 4. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and WREK 91.1 FM.
