BESSEMER The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified a man found dead after an RV fire on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
The body of Michael Earnest Seals, 62, of Bessemer, was found by fire personnel reporting to a trailer fire. The fire happened at a private residence in the 600 block of Willow Bend Lane, in Bessemer, around 7:42 a.m. Seals was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:55 a.m.

The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office and the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

83-year-old man dies 3 weeks after Jefferson County head-on crash

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as George M. Pody. He was 83.
The wreck happened at 9:49 a.m. April 15 on Forestdale Boulevard between Haven Drive and Lanewood Drive. Authorities said Pody was driving a Volkswagen Atlas when the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado veered into Pody’s lane and hit him head-on.
Pody was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead Sunday at 9:04 a.m. The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash on Birmingham’s Third Avenue West
Updated May 10, 2021;
A motorcyclist was killed in a weekend crash in Birmingham.
The crash happened at 10:29 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Third Avenue West, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Kenyun Montez Moore.
Authorities said Moore was traveling east on Third Avenue West when he was struck head-on by a Dodge Avenger that crossed over into his lane. Moore was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:01 p.m.
Birmingham police are investigating.
