Bessemer police on Thursday announced murder charges against Adrianna Stephen, 28, and Isiah Atkins, 32. They are charged in the April 17 slaying of 46-year-old Sean Coker.

BIRMINGHAM The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified a man killed in a crash on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
Willie Harris Steen, 55, of Birmingham, was killed when the Honda Civic he was driving crossed over the center line and struck another car head-on.
The crash happened around 10:12 p.m. in the 1000 block of Avenue West. Steen was pronounced dead on the scene.
The other car involved was a Pontiac Grand Am. It is unknown if anyone in that vehicle was hurt.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances of the wreck.

A man was shot to death Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in the 1000 block of 26th Street in Bessemer.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the man as Keaderick Terrod Robertson. He lived in Midfield.
It all began about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of 26th Street in Bessemer. Lt. Christian Clemons said it appears there were shots exchanged, possibly from someone in a vehicle and someone else in a house on 26th Street.
Robertson was struck and his Chevrolet Malibu came to a rest against a utility pole, just a few yards from where investigators marked 15 shell casings. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:33 a.m.
1 killed in west Birmingham head-on crash

A late-night crash in Birmingham left one man dead.
Willie Harris Steen was killed in the head-on collision, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. He was 55.
Authorities said Steen was the driver and lone occupant of a Honda Civic traveling northbound on Avenue W. At about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Steen’s vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a southbound Pontiac Grand Am.
Steen was pronounced dead on the scene at 10:29 p.m. No information was released on potential injuries for the other driver.
Birmingham police are investigating.
