Tuscaloosa Police host Hispanic community town hall

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - Tuscaloosa Police are continuing their diversity outreach program, this time meeting with members of the Latino community.
It was a packed house at a recent event where the Hispanic community in Tuscaloosa got to meet with police officers in a town hall, designed just for them.
The Tuscaloosa Police Department led the discussion, joined by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and Northport Police. Officers were seen getting to know members of the Latino community to answer questions and talk about concerns about policing in Tuscaloosa.

Share Updated: 12:47 PM CDT Apr 25, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit reports an arrest in a deadly shooting Saturday night.Deputies from the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office were called to the Branscomb Apartments around 10:20 p.m. on a vehicle accident with an unresponsive driver. Shortly thereafter callers reported that the driver had been shot. Medical crews arrived on the scene and pronounced 24-year-old Jamarqus Howard deceased.The Violent Crimes Unit assumed the case and collected evidence and interviewed witnesses.
