Region VII employees can help give vaccines
Dr. Canfield wants organization to provide vaccines in own right

HURON COUNTY The Region VII Area Agency on Aging is the latest organization announcing it is willing to help give COVID-19 vaccines to Huron County residents.
Dr. Ed Canfield, a Sebewaing physician who also serves as the medical director for Region VII, said the agency was asked by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to be a vaccine provider. The agency is working on arrangements where Region VII nurses will assist the health department in its 10-county coverage area in giving vaccinations, particularly to homebound seniors who are unable to get vaccines at a pharmacy, doctor’s office, or the health department.

In one of the many Muppets Christmas specials, a human character named Doc bemoans Fozzie’s mother for wanting a nice quiet Christmas away from the Muppets before realizing how fun everyone there can be. There have been plenty of times I have felt that way about wanting a quiet holiday to myself, but moreso with New Year’s.
Every year for my family it seemed like there was always something exciting that had to happen for New Year’s. The Buffalo Sabres for the longest time would play a game on either New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, which included the first Winter Classic in 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. There was the time the University of Buffalo’s football team played its first bowl game ever in the Skydome in Toronto. Or at least that’s what kind of things would happen when I was not coerced into watching Twilight Zone marathons with my mother.
