The Andhra Pradesh government enforced an extended 18-hour curfew to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
TSRTC sources told
The Hindu that the decision was taken due to operational disruptions and daily night curfew in Telangana from 9 pm to 5 am to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
However, essential services, including emergency medical services and inter-state movement of goods among others notified in prohibited orders, are exempt from the curfew.

All the entry and exit points on the inter-State border with Andhra Pradesh in as many as six border mandals in the erstwhile composite Khammam district have virtually turned into fortresses with police setting up check-posts along the border points to effectively enforce the coronavirus-induced curfew.
As the two-week long daily 18-hour curfew came into force in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh from Wednesday noon, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) cancelled around 123 inter-State bus services from various depots in Khammam region to different destinations in Andhra Pradesh temporarily.

Bus services were paralysed in the interior areas of Bhadrachalam Agency on Monday during the Bharat Bandh observed by CPI (Maoist) in protest against the Central government’s anti-Maoist operations - “Operation Samadhan-Prahar.”
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) suspended operation of buses to the remote tribal areas on Monday as a precautionary measure.
The inter-district bus services between Bhadrachalam and Wazed in Mulugu district were operated only up to Venkatapuram within the stipulated time till late in the afternoon.

Hyderabad, April 20 : Roads in Hyderabad and the rest of Telangana wore deserted look on Tuesday night as the night curfew came into force to contain the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
The usual hustle bustle on main thoroughfares in Hyderabad was missing while police personnel set up check posts to restrict the movement of people.
