National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser sent letters to more than 100 Muslim parliamentarians in multiple countries urging them to raise the issue of increasing Islamophobia in the West in their respective parliaments.
“Attempts to disrespect Islam and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) under the garb of freedom of expression is an attack on beliefs of Muslims,” tweeted Speaker Qaiser. He warned that attacks of the Muslims’ faith will “not be tolerated”.
“It is hoped that Muslim parliamentarians around the world will step forward and speak out in their respective parliaments against discriminatory practices, such as Islamophobia and religious hatred,” said Qaiser about the letter.

NA speaker tells lawmakers that attempts to disrespect Islam and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is an attack on beliefs of Muslims.
Asad Qaiser hopes that Muslim parliamentarians will step forward and speak out in their respective parliaments against Islamophobia.
Speaker says through a united front, Muslim lawmakers can promote interfaith “harmony and solidarity”.
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser announced on Wednesday that he has dispatched a letter to over 100 Muslim parliamentarians across the world to urge their parliaments to end the recent surge of Islamophobia seen in the West.

ISLAMABAD: In a major development, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday decided to open registration of around 12 million people in the age group of 40 to 50 years and allowed walk-in vaccination facility for citizens over 50.
Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said people who were 40 years and above could get themselves registered for vaccination from Tuesday (today).
“In today’s NCOC meeting, it was decided to open up registration of 40 plus age citizens starting tomorrow [Tuesday]. Also decision taken to allow walk in vaccination of all registered citizens of 50 plus age group. If you are 40 years or older please register and encourage others to register,” the minister tweeted.

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on Thursday sent letters to parliamentary leaders of all parties having representation in the National Assembly to suggest names of their members for inclusion in the proposed special committee of the house to take up the resolution on the issue of French envoy’s expulsion from Pakistan, which was tabled in the assembly on April 20 in line with the ‘agreement’ that the government reached with the banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

ISLAMABAD:
In response to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser’s letter seeking an apology from former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over his misbehaviour, the latter refused to apologise saying: “I only apologise to Almighty Allah and not to anyone else.”
Speaker Qaiser issued a letter to PML-N senior vice president over his misbehaviour and disrespect to the chair during the house proceedings on Tuesday, asking him to apologise with seven days or face action.
