Daily COVID-19 Vaccination Figure Dips Again, Doctors Say People Hesitating

Over the last week, the vaccination figures have dropped from 5.7 lakh to 1.8 lakh a day. The number of average beneficiaries per site has also slipped from 57 to 49 over the last few days. On January 28, the average number of beneficiaries per site was 56, the total number of vaccinations was above 5.7 lakh (5,72,074). On January 31, the average number of beneficiaries per site was 57 - the total number of vaccinations was 14,509. On February 2, the average number of beneficiaries per site was 49 - down from 54 on February 1. The total number of vaccinations was above 1.8 lakh (1,88,762) - down from Monday s 1.9 lakh (1,91,313).

JICA to foot 85% cost of AIIMS Madurai: RTI reply

Pandiaraja, a social worker. It has been over two years since the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for AIIMS in Madurai. A preparatory survey of the site was conducted by officials of JICA in February 2020.

Colleagues of the 44-year old worker had earlier alleged that she died following the coronavirus vaccination, though Guntur Collector Samuel Anand had said the exact cause of the death would be known only after post-mortem and maintained there was not a single adverse event reported in the district.

Use Aadhaar to identify, track COVID vaccine beneficiaries: Health Ministry to states, UTs

Credit: Trisha Jalan The Health Ministry has told states and union territories to use Aadhaar identify and track beneficiaries of the COVID-19 vaccine. In a review meeting with state health secretaries and other senior officials, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that there is a need to create “Immutable Vaccination Event Records (IVER)” to track possible adverse events after administering the vaccine, and Aadhaar was the “most reliable authentication” mechanism to identify beneficiaries. “Since use of Aadhar for verification provides a most reliable authentication of beneficiaries, Aadhar based authentication must be the preferred mode of verification of beneficiaries prior to the vaccination.”
