(Photo: IANS) Share Updated: Dec 23, 2020, 08:10 PM IST There was finally some good news for the beleaguered students in a COVID-19 pandemic-hit 2020 after Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ made an important announcement on Tuesday (December 22). The Education Minister announced that CBSE board exams will be held till February 2021 at least, giving the students enough time to prepare for their crucial examinations.

New Delhi: While addressing the teachers in a live session today, the Education Minister announced that the upcoming CBSE board exams will be conducted in an offline mode. The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said this while attending to the queries and suggestions of teachers across the country. Considering the difficulties students are facing while availing online classes in remote areas, it will be difficult for the students to take online exams, the minister said. Many CBSE schools are in rural areas. Hence, the upcoming 2021 exams cannot be held online, Mr Pokhriyal added. The Minister has asked teachers to join the webinar and share their concerns using #EducationMinisterGoesLive. The live interaction of the teachers and Mr Pokhriyal was broadcast live at the Education Ministry’s Twitter handle and Facebook page.

Delhi: The Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has finally cleared some air surrounding the CBSE Classes 10 and 12 board examinations by announcing that the exams will not be held in January or February and will be conducted in offline format. Though, the final CBSE board exams datesheet 2021 still has not been released. The new announcements regarding CBSE board exams 2021 evoked several responses from the students, some of which were thanking the Education Minister for not holding the exams before March while many demanded for a final datesheet. In an online interaction named #EducationMinisterGoesLive, Mr Pokhriyal mentioned “I received a lot of requests from various #students and #teachers to postpone @cbseindia29 board #exams for Class 10 & 12. Keeping the #COVID19 pandemic in mind and after various consultations, we have decided that #board exams will not be held in February”

Prior to this, he had interacted with students regarding entrance exams and online classes.
