UNO s Amphitheater Plays Host for Performing Arts Series | The University of New Orleans

The University of New Orleans amphitheater, which was recently transformed for live performances of the play “Eurydice,” is hosting a performing arts series for two Saturdays. The Solo Darity series, presented by Art Street, Inc., includes poetry, music, dance and theatre performances onMay 15 and May 22. Showtime is 8 p.m. on both dates. Art Street Inc. is a multi-discipline arts center engaging with communities through events, artist residencies, performances, exhibitions, and workshops. COVID-19 restrictions, particularly for indoor events, highlighted the need for outdoor performance venues, event organizers said.   “The idea came from the need for a venue to support the arts and to activate the amphitheater,” UNO professor of design Kevin Griffith said. “UNO s involvement is forming relationships with the community and local artists while activating and renovating the theater.”
