ORONO University of Maine Cooperative Extension and University of New Hampshire Extension will offer a webinar for home gardeners about edible native plants in the landscape from 6–7 p.m. Feb. 24.
“Nibbling on Natives in Your Backyard and Beyond” identifies more than two dozen species of native edible wild plants suitable for adding to backyard landscapes and supporting native pollinators. Russ Cohen, expert forager and author of “Wild Plants I Have Known … and Eaten,” will lead the workshop.

University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H will launch a new club for youth in grades 3–5 about the science of sustainable fisheries that will meet online weekly, Monday, Feb. 22 - April 12, from 3 - 4 p.m.
The 4-H Sustainable Fisheries Club will include learning about popular fish species in Maine, where they are found, fish DNA and hands-on science exploration. Internet access is required to participate. The club is hosted in partnership with Maine EPSCoR and the Maine-eDNA project.
There is no cost to enroll; all materials will be provided. Register on the UMaine Extension 4-H club webpage by Feb. 15. Enrollment is limited to 12 members.

Camden University of Maine Extension Professor Esperanza Stancioff will lead a webinar on Maine’s Climate Future, presented by Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, Feb. 23 at noon.
The discussion will explore the realities of Maine s changing climate and how coastal communities can adapt to those changes.
The major area of focus will be on coastal and marine areas of concern, telling the story that weaves together lobsters impacted by warming temperatures, shellfish impacted by ocean acidification, and people getting outside to observe the changes occurring in plants and animals through Maine s Signs of the Seasons: A New England Phenology Program.
