The Old Rochester Regional School District announced has reached 100 total cases of covid since its Sept. 16 reopening.
The district announced its 99th through 105th cases in press releases on Jan. 6. The new cases were found in Sippican School, Old Rochester Regional High School and Rochester Memorial School.
The 105-case total is a reflection of all the cases which have been contracted by students, faculty and staff at the district not the number of active cases currently in the district.
The individuals who tested positive for the virus at Sippican School, ORRHS and Rochester Memorial were last in school on Dec. 23. The district’s holiday break ran from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3, indicating that the cases were spread within the community.

Five new cases in the old Rochester Regional High School, Junior High and Old Hammondtown School were reported in a Jan. 4 press release by the Old Rochester Regional School District.
Three cases were found at the high school, with one each at the Junior High and Old Hammondtown.
All schools will operate as normal following the cases.
The positive individuals in the cases were last in school on Dec. 18 in the Old Hammondtown and Junior High cases, and Dec. 23 in the High School cases. School was out of session for the holiday break from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3, so it is likely that the cases were caused by spread within the community.

ROCHESTER The Old Rochester Regional School District reported a new covid case at Rochester Memorial School on Dec. 31, bringing the district total to 76.
The positive individual was last in Rochester Memorial on Dec. 23.
Contact tracing for the case is ongoing, and any close contacts will be notified by their respective Boards of Health. Close contacts are expected to quarantine in accordance with state guidelines.
All schools will continue with their normal schedules following the case.

School and town officials from Mattapoisett and Rochester sent out back to back press releases Wednesday afternoon announcing a total of four new known COVID cases in the Old Rochester Regional School District two cases at Old Rochester Regional High School in Mattapoisett, one at the Old Hammondtown Elementary School in Mattapoisett, and one at Rochester Memorial School in Rochester.
School and Mattapoisett officials reported in a press release that they received word of the two cases at the high school and the Old Hammondtown Elementary School case on Tuesday.
