Ex-Cabinet Vice Chief arrested until July 20
AKIPRESS.COM - Pervomaisky district court of Bishkek ruled to take former Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Digital Development Azamat Dyikanbaev into custody until July 20.
He will be kept in the State National Security Committee detention center until July 20.
Dyikanbaev was detained on suspicion of bribe extortion. The State National Security Committee said on May 20 the pre-trial investigation was launched after a foreign company carrying out the second phase of Safe City Project reported about extortion of a bribe for extention of the contract under the project.
Azamat Dyikanbaev was appointed Minister of Digital Development on May 5. 35-year-old Dyikanbaev has worked in IT sector before.

The Cabinet Vice Chairman and Minister of Digital Development was detained and taken into the detention facility of the State National Security Committee.
The Pervomai district court will consider restriction measures.
