Two Palestinian prisoners remain on hunger-strike against detention without charge

RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 8, 2021 (WAFA) – Two Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails have been on hunger strike for four days and 22 days respectively in protest of their unfair detention without charge or trial, today said the Palestinian Prisoner s Society (PPS).
Sa ed Abu Ebeid, 41, a resident of Jenin city in the occupied West Bank, was detained by the Israeli occupation army on November 30, 2020, and was sentenced to four and a half months in prison.

Palestinian prisoner Emad Al-Battran last night suspended his 47-day hunger strike after an Israeli pledge to set a time limit for his administrative detention.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners Society, Al-Battran received a pledge from his jailers to release him in July.
As a result of his prolonged hunger strike, Al-Battran is now weak and suffers from physical pains and skin inflammation. The prisoner launched his hunger strike in Megiddo jail before he was transferred to Ramla jail, then to a hospital and recently to an isolation cell in Nitzan jail.

RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 8, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli repression units raided today secions 3 and 7 in the Israeli prison of Rimon, in the Naqab desert, where Palestinian political detainees are incarcerated, and brutally assaulted and clashed with them, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
The PPS said in a statement that clashes erupted between the Palestinian prisoners and the attacking repression units, but said no further details were available concerning the situation of the prisoners at the moment.
Palestinian administrative detainee in Israel suspends 47-day long hunger strike after reaching a deal for his release

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 07, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestinian administrative detainee in Israel, Imad Batran, 47, from Hebron, today suspended his open-ended hunger strike, which lasted for 47 days, after an agreement to set a ceiling for his administrative detention, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
It said the agreement stipulates that Batran’s administrative detention will end in July of this year.
Batran, who has been in administrative detention since January 27, 2020, for his political activity, began his hunger strike on 20 February demanding an end to his prolonged administrative detention without charge or trial and based on secret evidence not available for anyone except the military judges and prosecutor.
