Subscriber only UPDATE, Sunday 10am: A 47-year-old Lowood man remains in critical condition following a serious motorcycle crash at Marburg on Friday. The man has been in Intensive Care at Royal Brisbane and Women s Hospital for almost two days. It is understood he came off his bike while travelling westbound on the Warrego Hwy around 10.20pm. He is currently listed in a critical but stable condition. Police continue to appeal to anyone with information about the crash. UPDATE, Saturday 12pm: A motorcyclist remains in Intensive Care this afternoon following a single-vehicle crash on Christmas night. It is understood the 47-year-old Lowood man came off his bike on the Warrego Hwy at Marburg around 10.20pm.

Photo: Roydon Primary Academy A school community is helping to raise awareness of the symptoms of brain tumours in support of their headteacher’s daughter. Pupils at Roydon Primary Academy, in Harlow, took part in Wear a Hat Day to raise money for Brain Tumour Research. The school challenged pupils to design their own festive hat to wear on the day. The event was particularly poignant for head of school Anna Myatt whose daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour at Christmas 2018.

Essex surgeon Jehangir Mahaluxmivala was named Trainer of the Year 2020 by the Royal London Rotation for Trauma and Orthopaedics

A consultant orthopaedic surgeon at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) has received a prestigious award in recognition of his teaching work.
Jehangir Mahaluxmivala was named Trainer of the Year 2020 by the Royal London Rotation for Trauma and Orthopaedics for a second time in recognition of his dedication to maintaining standards during the pandemic.
Mr Mahaluxmivala said: “I am delighted to have received this award – it is a real privilege to be recognised in this way.
