The PHCC has also dedicated two of its health centers as test and hold centers as part of its efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The two testing centres are Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre and Umm Slal Health Centre. Patients with mild or moderate symptoms of coronavirus should dial 16000 and will be directed to one the screening units at the PHCC COVID-19 designated health centers where they will be tested and isolated, and will receive the results from healthcare professionals as soon as samples are tested, they stated.
Covid-19 test are also made available at all other health centers within PHCC for suspect cases.
(MENAFN - Gulf Times) In view of current developments in coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak and for the purposes of protecting public health, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced that beginning from Sunday, February 14, PHCC will be conducting all non-essential clinic appointments by virtual consultations only. Essential services will continue face to face at a limited capacity across all health centres.
The statement added that all patients are required to wear a mask, show their Ehteraz app and undergo body temperature checks. The non-essential services, include Geriatric memory clinic Physiotherapy, Well woman, Cancer screening, Minor procedures, Smoking cessation, Adolescent health, SMART clinics, Wellness services, Dental screening, Health educators, Family planning, NCD, Dermatology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Audiology, General Paediatric, Integrated psychiatry, Support clinic, Cardiology, Dental general, MCH, Dietician, and CDC.

Doha: Qatar University’s (QU) Health Cluster hosted a panel discussion via WebEx on “COVID-19 Vaccines: Your Questions Answered.”
The discussion aimed to raise awareness on the vaccination for COVID-19 and clarify misconceptions.
QU President, Dr. Hassan Rashid Al Derham and Vice President for Medical and Health Sciences and Dean of the College of Medicine, QU, Prof. Egon Toft delivered the opening remarks.
Director of Public Health, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al Thani during the virtual discussion, explained the significance of the Ministry’s efforts in mitigating the effects of the pandemic, reducing the number of deaths, mobilising the public, providing accurate information, and providing vaccines to the population swiftly.

Doha: The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) said that studies have demonstrated the importance of regular physical activity in maintaining a healthy body weight and preventing obesity, the matter which will reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke by up to 35 %, and reduce the risk of early death by 30 %, in addition to 50% less risk of developing type 2 diabetes, 50 % less risk of colon cancer and 20% of breast cancer.
On the occasion of the National Sports Day, which will be marked on Tuesday, the Corporation stated that exercise and physical activity have an important role in preventing and handling chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes and many types of cancer, besides it helps to prevent high blood pressure, improve mental health, quality of life and well-being. With the increase in daily COVID-19 cases reported in the country, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has initiated a campaign urging public to take responsibility and follow precautionary measures to control spread of the virus.
As individual responsibility to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is equally vital as government action, the social media campaign is urging the people to ‘Be Responsible.’ The campaign is being carried out by MoPH along with the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC). The campaign in different languages says, ‘Be Responsible. I’m committed to wearing a face mask. Protect yourself, protect your family, protect your country.’
