EDWARDSVILLE Three people face felony charges filed Feb. 23 after attacking police or medical personnel in separate incidents.
Loran R. Collins, 32, of Granite City and Jonathan J. Gagen, 28, of Madison, were charged with aggravated battery, both Class 2 felonies, in separate incidents.
Adam C. Weeks, 33, of Collinsville, was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
All were separate incidents and the cases were brought by the Granite City Police Department.
According to court documents, on Nov. 30 Collins fought with a Granite City detective, causing lacerations to the officer’s hand that required stitches.

EDWARDSVILLE A Pontoon Beach man faces felony weapons charges, according to documents filed Wednesday by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Drake D. Smith, 33, was charged Wednesday, Feb. 24 with unlawful possession of a stolen firearm, a Class 2 felony, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Pontoon Beach Police Department.
According to court documents, on Feb. 23 Smith allegedly was found to be in possession of a stolen FSN 9 mm handgun. He also has a conviction for unlawful use of a weapon out of St. Louis in 2008.
Mobile home park owner charged with writing bad check to sheriff s department

EDWARDSVILLE The owner of a Granite City mobile home park was charged Wednesday with allegedly paying the Madison County Sheriff’s Department with a bad check.
Mohammad K. Jalali, 40, of St. Louis, was charged Feb. 24 with deceptive practices, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.
According to court documents, Jalali, the owner of Lakeshore Estates Mobile Home Park in the 3100 block of West Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City, on Aug. 21 presented a check for $608 to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department drawn on a Bank of America account “knowing said checks would not be paid by the depository.”

EDWARDSVILLE Two Granite City residents were charged Wednesday with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
Joseph A. Cook, 39, and Crystal L. Hunt, 34, were charged Feb. 24 with the Class 2 felony of unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
The cases were presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, and were the result of “proactive police work on a traffic stop,” according to Capt. David Vucich, chief of investigations for the sheriff’s department.
According to court documents, on July 31 the two were found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
