REMER, Minn. A 1-year-old boy died in a house fire near Remer on Friday morning, with four others escaping unharmed, according to a release from Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire at 1:46 a.m. on Friday, May 7, in the area of Ghe We Zance Lane Northeast, in Boy Lake Township near rural Remer, which is about 30 miles east of Walker.
A duplex was engulfed in flames Friday, May 7, in Cass County.

A residential duplex was engulfed in fire in the early morning hours Friday, May 7, resulting in the death of a 1-year-old boy.
Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reported the office received a report of a house fire in rural Remer at 1:46 a.m. Friday. The home is in the area of Ghe We Zance Lane Northeast, in Boy Lake Township. Deputies arrived and began checking the residence, which was filled with smoke and fire. Deputies were able to locate one adult female who was in a bedroom in the residence and quickly got her out from the residence safely. The investigation indicates an adult female and three children were able to escape the fire prior to responders arriving.

(KNSI) – A one-year-old child has died in a house fire near Remer.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office says first responders were called around 1:45 a.m. on Friday to a home in Boy Lake Township.
Deputies arrived and found a duplex engulfed in fire. Deputies began checking the home, which was filled with smoke and fire.
A woman was found in a bedroom and quickly taken out of the home.
Three fire departments arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire.
Authorities found the one-year-old boy inside the burned-out home.
The investigation indicates that another woman and three children escaped the fire before responders arriving.
