SARANAC LAKE Adirondack Medical Center was highlighted on Monday, Jan. 4 as one of the highest-performing hospitals in the state for distributing vaccines. Less than two weeks after the hospital received its first shipment of coronavirus vaccines on Dec. 23, about 87% of its vaccine allotment has been administered, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Northwell Health, New York’s largest hospital system and the owner of Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH), said Tuesday it would rescind medical debt lawsuits filed against patients in 2020 and will institute a pause of new filings, following a news report about thousands of such suits.
According to online court records accessed Tuesday, attorneys filed at least 70 of those more-than 2,500 lawsuits which were first reported by the New York Times on behalf of SIUH.

Fire department sources said the woman was found feet-first down the chute with her bags,
Neighbors had reported the woman banging on doors in the complex, the sources added.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Frontline healthcare workers at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC) and Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) many of whom are directly treating COVID-19 patients will begin receiving their second round of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine on Monday, both hospitals announced on Sunday.
