RCB generates over Rs1 17b revenue

Islamabad April 12, 2021 Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) under its ongoing campaign against defaulters of different taxes managed to generate over Rs1.17 billion revenue during last nine months of the current financial year. According to RCB spokesman, Qaiser Mehmood, the board collected over Rs668 million property tax, over Rs167 million water charges, Rs30.7 million Conservancy changes, Rs284 million TIP Tax and over Rs9.2 million Trade License Fee while Rs5.9 million Professional Tax was also recovered from the defaulters during the period. The RCB teams on the directives of the CEO, RCB Muhammad Farooq Ali Malik were conducting raids in different areas to take action against the defaulters of Property Tax, Water Charges, Transfer of Immovable Property (TIP) Tax and Trade Tax , he added.

Vaccination centre opened at FJWU - Newspaper

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat on Sunday inaugurated a corona vaccination centre at Fatima Jinnah Women’s University (FJWU), which was approved by Chief Minister Usman Bazdar on his recommendation. Addressing the ceremony, Raja Basharat said the vaccination centre was a gift from the chief minister to the people of Rawalpindi Cantonment. He said all the vaccination centres across the province had been provided with excellent facilities. Raja Basharat said people should cooperate with the government by implementing the Covid-19 safety measures as the third wave was very deadly. But with the efforts of the Punjab government and people’s cooperation, it would be overcome soon.

Acute water shortage hits Islooites Islamabad April 11, 2021 Islamabad: The residents of sectors G-14/4 and G-13 are facing acute water shortage because of non-availability of underground water and only 1-hour a week supply through pipelines in G-13. There is no water supply whatsoever in Sector G-14/4 and residents have to entirely depend upon tanker water supply at costly rates. The spokesperson for local monitoring committee said that it is the responsibility of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to provide water to the residents but despite its efforts in the last two years, no solution is visible. Droughts and Climate Change also having an adverse impact on the situation, he said.
