The Metro East s seven-day positivity rate reported Tuesday was 6.5%, which is at the threshold to return to Phase 4 restrictions.
The regional dashboard also reported 20% ICU bed available. The region needs to remain above 20% for restrictions to be loosened.
As of Tuesday, the Metro East is the only region still under Tier 2 mitigations.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force reported improving numbers again Tuesday.
The following data are the combined figures from the four major health systems (BJC HealthCare, Mercy, SSM Health, St. Luke’s Hospital) that are part of the task force, for Feb. 2.
New hospital admissions (data lagged two days) decreased - from 59 yesterday to 51 today.

WOOD RIVER Eight Madison County residents were among the 47 COVID-19 related deaths listed Tuesday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The IDPH report included the deaths of a man in his 60s, two men in their 70s, two women in their 80s, one man in his 80s and two women in their 90s.
Eight COVID-19 related deaths also were reported late Monday by the Madison County Health Department, bringing the county’s death toll to 439. County officials listed the deceased as a man in his 60s, two men in their 70s, a man in his 80s, three women in their 80s and a woman in their 90s.

WOOD RIVER Health officials are cautiously optimistic about the current COVID-19 trend in Madison County.
Late Saturday, the Madison County Health Department reported a three-day positivity rate of 7.87%, the lowest it has been since Oct. 26. The seven-day rate was 9.7% and the 10-day rate was 9.71%.
Madison County reported only two COVID-19 related deaths between Thursday and Saturday.
After reporting no deaths on Thursday, the county reported just one day each on Friday and Saturday: a woman in her 90s on Friday and a man in his 70s on Saturday.
