STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations are in high-demand, but scheduling a coveted appointment has been difficult for many to make. Between initial technical glitches and limited supply to winter weather that derailed hundreds of potential slots, finding an open availability has demanded a concerted effort.
A Staten Island-based vaccination texting service that alerts borough residents when a large tranche of appointment slots open up on the Island has been making that search a little easier.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. New York City high schools will reopen for in-person instruction on Monday, March 22, but several high school buildings across the five boroughs including three Staten Island schools currently serve as coronavirus vaccine sites.
According to the city Department of Education (DOE), all vaccination centers located at high schools will be moved to new locations by the end of April.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Two Staten Island high school seniors are working to increase student access to college preparatory and career resources and programs regardless of students’ economic backgrounds.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The deadlines to apply for New York City’s middle and high schools are fast approaching and students will face a host of changes to the application process this year.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and Schools Chancellor Richard A. Carranza announced the changes in November in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and vocal critics, who have, through the years, called for more diversity in the city’s specialized high schools, including Staten Island Technical High School in New Dorp.
