A Jersey City fugitive authorities say murdered his mother inside her apartment building has been arrested.
Terrance Nelson was seen being taken into the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office on Duncan Avenue by two Jersey City police officers Sunday morning, Mother’s Day.
He has been charged with first-degree murder of 60-year-old Jacqueline Nelson, who was found unconscious on the first floor of a home at 18 Virginia Ave. Thursday morning. The 60-year-old was pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center a few hours later.

“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and JCPD are investigating a suspicious death of a 47-year-old man who was found deceased in his apartment Saturday morning on Griffith Street between Summit and Central Avenues in Jersey City. More info to follow,” the HCPO tweeted.
Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez provided more details at 5:12 p.m.
Yesterday just before 6 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to an unresponsive male in his apartment on Griffith Street between Summit and Central Avenues.
Responding officers found a lifeless 47-year-old man who was pronounced dead at 6:01 a.m. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has charged a 16-year-old suspect with the murder of Benjamin Stone, a Jersey City fashion photographer who was found dead in his apartment last month.
The suspect, who has not been identified, has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was arrested yesterday afternoon at the prosecutor’s office.
Stone, 40, a well-known fashion photographer, was found dead by police at his Storms Avenue apartment on April 27 during a welfare check. A friend was said to have requested the check after Stone stopped responding to calls and texts.

A 52-year-old day care worker from Jersey City, New Jersey has been arrested over the alleged abuse of a 9-month-old girl that was formerly in her care.
Diana Camacho was arrested at approximately 4:45 p.m. Tuesday after she turned herself in to authorities, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement released Thursday. She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Prosecutors accused Camacho of abusing a 9-month old girl that was under her care when she was still an employee at Kiddie Academy of Hoboken, according to the statement.
