Suit: Texas company fraudulently purchased, resold PPE | Southeast Texas Record

HOUSTON A Porter-based company and its owners are facing fraud claims relating to the purchasing, resale and investment of personal protective equipment.   Joel Garza, Sr., and Joel Garza, Jr., filed a complaint April 5 in Harris County District Court against McCreless Enterprises LLC and Caleb McCreless alleging fraud and fraudulent inducement.   

Salata sued by customer claiming she drank cleaning chemicals from tea dispenser

HOUSTON – Gulping down a fresh cup of cleaning chemicals while dinning at a Conroe Salata resulted in a trip to the hospital for Megan Bean, according to a lawsuit she recently filed. Seeking up to $250,000 in damages, Bean filed suit against Salata on Monday, claiming the restaurant negligently failed to ensure the beverages it provided were safe for human consumption. According to her lawsuit, on March 24 Bean went to Salata and proceeded through the salad bar line, grabbing a cup for her beverage. She then went to the drinks dispensary and filled up her cup with what she believed was tea.

Liquide America plant worker suffers injuries in explosion, suit claims

HOUSTON A Liquide America plant worker who suffered injuries during a plant explosion is claiming negligence.  Tammy Hale filed a complaint May 16 in Harris County District Court against Air Liquide America L.P., Air Liquide America Corporation alleging negligence and premises liability. According to Hale s complaint, she and other workers were working at the defendants plant in Pasadena on March 6, 2021. She alleges that a sudden explosion at the plant caused her to flee for her life and suffer severe injuries including to her neck, back, head, arms, leg and other body parts. Hale claims the defendants did not provide her with a functioning gas detecting monitor to alert of any leaking gas fumes and that she was required to remain in the area of the explosion and was subjected to extremely loud explosion noises.  

Union Pacific conductor claims federal safety violations, sues for $1M plus

HOUSTON A Union Pacific Railroad conductor who tripped on exposed conduit on the track and suffered serious injuries is claiming the company failed to abide by Federal Railroad Administration safety guidelines.  Kevin Robertson filed a complaint May 17 in Harris County District Court against Union Pacific Railroad Company alleging negligence and violation of railroad safety statues and regulations.  Robertson alleges in his complaint that on April 26, 2021, while working as a conductor for Union Pacific, he was building a train off the mainline in Orange. He claims he tripped over an exposed conduit laid in the track bed while walking back to the locomotive and suffered injuries to his ankle, knee and lower back. Robertson claims Union Pacific failed to warn of  the hazard and ensure that the track and track bed were maintained. Woman falls off toilet seat in handicapped bathroom at H-E-B, sues for $250K

Linetta Liberto filed a complaint May 17 in Harris County District Court against H-E-B LP alleging negligence.  Liberto claims in her suit that on Nov. 8, 2019, she was at the H-E-B on San Felipe in Houston. She alleges that she was in the handicapped stall of the store s public bathroom when suddenly and without warning, the toilet seat shifted. Liberto further alleges she lost her balance, fell and suffered injuries.  She claims H-E-B did not have a warning or out of order sign to alert about the hazard in the bathroom stall and failed to exercise reasonable care to eliminate the dangerous condition. Liberto also claims she suffered physical impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.
