Reports of the crash came into the Soldotna Public Safety Communications Center starting around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an online report from troopers. A preliminary investigation found that a 2019 Volkswagen Golf being driven “at a high rate of speed” north on the Seward Highway near Mile 30 hit the back of a road grader that “was actively plowing,” troopers said.
