They did a chest X-ray and they said, ‘Your lung’s fully collapsed. We have to do surgery right now.’” Murphy, who is now with the A’s in camp, said he actually had two surgeries. The first inserted a tube to drain air from his chest cavity and allow his lung to reinflate.
