Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Central Texas home sales remain on track for another record year, and local real estate experts say they expect 2021 will also be a strong year for housing in the Austin region. Home sales and median home-sale prices across the five-county region that spans Georgetown to San Marcos initially were hammered in the early months of the pandemic. But they rebounded after shutdowns lifted, and have roared back to set monthly records for much of the year. Last month, sales in both the Central Texas region and within Austin's city limits hit an all-time high for a November, indicating no sign of a typical season slowdown heading into the new year, according to new data from the Austin Board of Realtors.
